Work undertaken

As a large, specialist crime set led by 6 QCs Peel Court Chambers offers strength and depth in all areas of criminal law. Additionally, members offer expertise in personal injury, civil, prison law, licensing (gaming and liquor), health and safety and all aspects of regulatory law.Languages spoken include French, German and Mandarin.

     
Flexibility

We have in place IT systems so we can respond to our clients in a flexible way. We will advise by telephone, fax, or email. You may email the clerks directly at clerks@peelcourt.co.uk or access our website at www.peelcourt.com.
 
Seminar programme

Chambers offer clients a continuing education programme. We devise seminars in our specialist fields aimed specifically at our clients' areas of practice and particular interests. The seminars carry Law Society accreditation and are offered free of charge to clients. We are able to conduct lectures and seminars at our clients' offices or in chambers depending on your needs. Client Care
 
We comply with the Code of Conduct and the Practice Management Standards of the Bar Council in all our dealings with clients. We welcome and take seriously all comments from clients and have appropriate internal procedures for addressing their concerns. If at any time you experience difficulty in your dealings with any member of chambers or staff or have any comments to offer please contact the Senior Clerk, Shell Edmonds.

Response Times
All instructions and briefs will be acknowledged in writing as having been passed to the agreed barrister within 1 working day of receipt.
 
Reservation of a barrister for a conference or hearing is confirmed in writing within 1 working day.
 
Written paperwork is provided within 21 days from the receipt of instructions. More urgent papers can be accommodated following discussion with the clerks. We keep you fully informed of progress and of any factors which are likely to cause delay and the reasons for them, and we will advise you promptly where a response time needs to be revised.
 
If for any unexpected reason a barrister becomes unavailable, a clerk will contact you immediately and only with your express consent will the case be reassigned to a counsel of equivalent or otherwise acceptable level of seniority or expertise.
 
We aim to provide a prompt response to all communications from clients. We will return telephone messages to a clerk/barrister within 24 hours/3 daysand reply to correspondence to a clerk/barrister with 24 hours/7 days.

We aim to meet the needs of all clients and visitors to our premises, including those with special needs. Conveniently located close  to  the Crown Court, Crown Square, Manchester our facilities include:

  • Disabled access and toilet facilities Video and television
  • Telephone conferencing facilities
  • E-mail internet access
  • Fully equipped library with computerised research facilities
  • Disks are accepted and can be provided.
  • An NCP car park is available at Great Northern
