Areas of Practice
Adam qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and spent ten years practising exclusively in criminal law in Manchester, initially at Maidments and thereafter at JMW. In 2004 he transferred to the Bar completing a Pupillage at Peel Court.
His experiences as a solicitor have given Adam a thorough grounding in the practical problems faced by solicitors and legal representatives at all stages of case preparation from Police Station advice onwards.
Since being called to the Bar Adam has been instructed in a wide range of cases from “bread and butter” crime through to rape, armed robbery and the alleged deliberate infliction of the HIV virus.
Having been a solicitor Adam’s practice has had a defence slant but he has also been regularly instructed to prosecute for the CPS and for the Revenue and Customs Prosecution Office.
Adam has gained further valuable experience appearing as a Junior Counsel for both the Prosecution and the Defence in complex, multi-defendant cases. He also has experience of working closely with solicitors and the Legal Services Commission in the preparation of VHCC cases.
